Wednesday Workout Update - Interrupted!

We interrupt your regularly-scheduled Wednesday Workout Update with this breaking news:  Today marks the two year anniversary of my hitting the 100 pound weight loss milestone.

TWO YEARS.

One HUNDRED pounds.

And I haven't gained it all back!  Not even close!!  You better believe I'm celebrating!!!

Let's face it, if everyone just lost weight and kept it off, there would be a lot less discussion (and profit made) on dieting.  But the truth of it is that losing weight is only the beginning.  Keeping it off?  That's a whole 'nother story.  And while this year has been a challenging one for me, what with losing my favorite form of exercise to an injury, and stress eating over my mother's shocking cancer diagnosis (she just went through her third set of tests since her surgery and is doing fantastic, I'm happy to report!), I still fit into most of my "new" clothes, with the exception of some pants.  Yeah, things were looser a year ago, but hey - all things considered, this is pretty darn good.  And with the advent of running getting closer and closer, it can only get better.  Today, I'm celebrating the fact that I still have a normal-sized body...two years and counting!

  1. Damn Straight!! Celebrate your butt off. I can't believe we have been friends that long. Longer really. I knew you before you had even tried Greek Yogurt :) Man, time just marches on.

    You're my hero!

  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I'm so proud of you but mostly happy for you that you keep maintaining your weight, no matter what happens in your life.

I totally agree that maintaining is the hardest part. When you are losing, you have a goal to work towards too.
I always say that being overweight is being sentenced for life. You can never let go again, sure maybe every now and then but you always have to get back on track.

Celebrate my friend with that ice cream you love so much.

  18. Happy 2 years! You're doing wonderfully! It's hard for me to imagine what will be hard about maintaining, because it's so far into the future you know? I try not to dwell on it because my hands are full with what I'm doing right now. I'm hoping that something inside will have changed by then to make it easier (although not easy).

  27. Congrats on all you have accomplished. I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary of the beginning of my 101 pound loss although I've been struggling to stay there for the past couple of months since going back to work. It is a never ending battle but totally worth it. Rock on!

  28. You are my idol. In the same two years, I lost and gained and gained and lost and gained again. But I look at you, and I watch you keep pressing on, and keeping yourself on target and determined, and enjoying your skinny self loving life, and I know it's possible. It can be done -- you are proof.

    So thank you.

  32. Congrats to you! I just hit the 100 pound mark and I too have been struggling but now I am back on track and the scale is moving again. It has taken me 2 years to lose 100 lbs so I hope that I can lose the last 50 I want in less time. Thanks for the inspiration!! Keep going!
