I got to sleep in my own bed last night! The trip to Denton was fun, but I was ready to come home and get back on track with my diet and exercise routines.
I hooked up the Wii and Wii Fit today - no small feat for me as I have never had to do anything like that (having two computer/gaming nerd sons has made my life easy over the years!), but figured since everyone is leaving home I should know how to do it.
The Wii Fit has a great feature - it lets you password your weight!!! Some things should just stay private, ya know?!? Anyway, I had a goal of doing 20 minutes on Weefee (yes, I named her, too!) and I managed 21 minutes - yay me! I did the yoga (for the most part, my trainer said I have good posture - amazing!) except for the "tree pose" (like that's gonna happen without having a stick to balance with!) and I definitely felt it...my thighs especially. Surprised me a bit, because I know I've been exercising my legs with IpoHolo, but I guess it's using different muscles. I only did each pose two times, because I was wanting to move on and try out other things. The hula hoop was fun, and they toss more hula hoops at you to (try and) catch. The heading a soccer ball (not sure what it's really called) was crazy! You get points for each ball that you head, but lose points every time a shoe or some other random object hits you. And I got hit a lot! The most fun game was the ski jump - kind of like doing squats, only more entertaining. I tried the step class and was ok going front-to-back, but the side-to-side threw me and the game kept pausing to (try and) let me get back on the correct foot. Another one that I will have to work on! I was ready to stop when my 20 minutes were up...although I really could have gone longer, I didn't want to be too sore to do this again tomorrow. So far I like it and I think using Weefee will help keep me honest (you get to stamp your calendar for every day that you exercise) and on track.
I'm back to the shakes/V-8/LC meal/popcorn routine...hopefully this will propel me to lose another 10 pounds by the end of July. I don't have anything crazy, food-wise, coming up until the weekend of August 15 - 18, when we will be once again in the Denton area (this time I won't be coming home with a kid!). So I have a good month to get myself smaller before I will have to make more food choices. Speaking of that...I had a cookie at Panera Bread yesterday. It was good, but I'm glad I'm away from all of that temptation for now!
I'm impressed, and find myself thinking that I could never do this!
ReplyDeleteAnd I got up and put the chips and dip away.
That's awesome! You go girl! And believe me, if I can do this, you can definitely do it.
ReplyDeleteWee Fee sounds like fun but it will use different muscles than the bike riding. Ten pounds sounds like a great goal, go for it.
