So many emotions, ending with a real head scratcher - ha!
Technology is pretty cool - do any of you have a video doorbell like Ring or Nest?

In all the years of playing Words With Friends, I have never had this happen:
There are no possible moves??
Even funnier, my mom had started the game and passed her turn; when I got that message I had to laugh...and then swap out some letters so we could actually play.

Remember when I showed you a picture of our Sago palm, which we thought didn't make it through our especially harsh winter? Here's a reminder - this picture was taken in May:
One tiny frond, sprouting from the depths of the trunk.
Well, it came back, but the fronds look different than how they usually look:
Please ignore the dead oak leaves on the fronds - our mower guy always gets leaves in the pot plants, which irks me because I can blow the leaves and not have that happen. Have I said anything to him? Of course not. And considering he's been mowing our yard for a couple of years now, it's a little late.
So the palm has fronds, but they are smaller than usual - and curly! Also, there's a lot more than normal, including some extras growing from the soil and not the trunk. Weird, right? I guess the poor plant was really traumatized from our 14-degree days last January.

After we do our usual run and breakfast on Saturday, I think we're going to hang some pictures around the house. I was waiting until we got the furniture we ordered in the family room to do so, and now most of it is here. While I enjoyed the fresh, clean walls with the new paint, it's feeling a little stark, so it's time to liven it up with art.
Have a great weekend!
I haven't played words with friends in years. I started playing with Scott and he called in Letters with enemies. I would get so mad because he would make stupid words just to block me!
ReplyDeleteHave you played Fight Words? I really like that game. I played it a lot over Christmas break but haven't played since. Check it out!
LOLOLOL on Letters With Enemies.
DeleteI'll have to check out Fight Words!
I love the many faces of Sam! We have friends who installed Ring at their house because they live in an isolated area and also because they put their house on the market and wanted to spy on potential buyers lol.
ReplyDeleteYour palm is beautiful, even if it does look different. It amazes me that it managed to come back.
Ooh, that's not a bad idea, to install a video doorbell when your house is on the market! Plus it's probably a selling feature to a lot of buyers.
DeleteI agree--the palm is beautiful!! And I have never even heard of an internet Ring for your door. In fact, I never thought about it, but I've never had a doorbell in this house! Living way out here, I so seldom have visitors that I am not expecting, it doesn't seem to matter.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see where that kind of doorbell isn't necessary for you - besides, you have *ahem* other ways to be alerted to people at your door, LOL.
DeleteI so love our family text chains! As you say, they range from the ridiculous to the sublime, peppered throughout with family catch-phrases and memories. It's such a nice way for us parents to not feel like they're so far away or that they have completely outgrown their little kid silliness. And I sadly admit that I didn't know there was such a thing as a video doorbell - I know, showing my age here...
ReplyDeleteExactly on the family text chain. :)
DeleteOh, hanging pics! Fun! I can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteHa! I am laughing so hard at Sam! Especially that last pic! We don't have a digital doorbell, but we have a driveway sensor to let us know when someone is here, and cameras that record our driveway and front door! (I should explain - we live on a dead-end street with only a few houses surrounded by fields, so we don't get many random knockers at the door!)
I like the idea of that kind of doorbell and am glad Sam has one - your driveway sensor sounds like an excellent idea considering your location.
DeleteThose doorbell pics are funny! My brother has one of those systems but i can’t remember which one! Our sago palms are going crazy over here too. Apparently snow in the south can’t slow them down!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to hear that your sago palms are acting odd, too. Wonder what this next winter has in store for them?
DeleteThose video doorbells are so cool. Not sure it would work at our old house. Sam's pictures are hilarious! :D
ReplyDeletePlants are funny things - they survive however they can and your sago probably got a late start from those cold temps or adjusted to them and grew smaller. Still pretty!
Sam keeps encouraging us to get a video doorbell, but I like my new sleek doorbell too much to get rid of it.
DeleteI had the no move thing happen just recently with my mom! But it was at the end of the game.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that message before - maybe it came with an app update?
DeleteHave fun hanging pictures! I love that process!!!
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT believe how far behind I'd gotten on your blog. :( Renovations, and first houses, and heat exhaustion, and Paco meds, and COFFEE STATIONS!! I need to keep up! Hahahaha Your house looks phenomenal!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, you HAVE missed a lot! I knew you'd notice the coffee station eventually. :)
