FMM - Happy Things!

I had lunch with a friend last week and came out to see this:
Awww!  The Duchess has a friend!  I love it when Minis find each other.  I'll always park by one if I can.

I'm finally getting my knitting mojo back!  Currently I'm making something that I can't show you yet because it's a gift, but I found a neat summery sweater pattern that I liked and bought the yarn for it:
It's soooo squishy!  I have plenty, so I'm also going to knit a baby hat for my doctor, who is expecting her first baby in a few months.

I am slowly decorating our new walls.  I will be able to hang more of our art once our new couches arrive, but until then I'm only doing small areas.  I went looking for something coffee-related to hang at the coffee station, and found these cute little paintings on Etsy:
Love how the artist paints all around the canvas.  I bought the one on the right and commissioned the one on the left - she had it in a magnet, but I wanted another little painting.  They are so cheery and bright!
There's room for more, if I find more cute coffee art!

We have a low-key weekend ahead, except that Jeff might run 6.1 miles because he had a birthday this week.  I can't say that I recommend doing that, but we'll see what happens.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I like how the art you bought on etsy matches with the colors in your coffee mugs!

Really pretty color of yarn your knitting with these days. I've lost my knitting mojo too coming up on a year since I knit/finished a project.

I don't really see a lot of mini-coopers down here but they sure are cute.

Really don't envy Jeff running 6+ miles in this heat and humidity. Its that time of year down here too where the humidity feels like a wooly heavy blanket on your skin when you walk outside of your house.
Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Your description of what the humidity feels like now is entirely accurate. Blech.

  2. At work, somehow I always end up parking next to a mini. Or they park next to me. It's like we find each other....

    1. Minis being friends are akin to how Volkswagon Bug owners used to wave to each other back in the 60s. :)

    2. I should mention that I drive a Jeep. So I wonder if the Mini is looking for protection? :p

  3. I really wish I had learned how to knit, but I could never get it although I did learn how to crochet. My union offers free knitting classes to its retirees along with all the other ones I take there. Seriously thinking of it in September. They close in July so why begin now. They use a loom to make awesome gifts.

    1. And see, I never could pick up on crochet, no matter how many times my Grandma tried to teach me. Our brains work differently, I guess. The free knitting class might be fun - I'd give it a try!

I love that that Mini parked by you. That's so fun.

  6. I just love that coffee center! It must be so nice to have all that in one spot off the other counters.

With your heat and humidity I might be tempted to run 3.05 in the morning then run 3.05 in the evening - or let Jeff run by himself hahahahaha!

    1. I think that's why my counters do look so clean now, because we don't have all of that coffee stuff on them. And my cabinets are less crowded too, because all of the travel mugs and lids are underneath, in the coffee cabinet. :)

  7. The little paintings are just perfect! I like how they go along with the bright colors on your mugs. The yarn!!! Yay! What blend is it? It looks like there's something besides wool in there.

    1. I had to look at the label - the yarn is 100% merino wool. It's a sport weight, so that might account for the look? I'm really excited to wind and knit it!

  8. Very cute coffee art. Fits in perfectly with your mugs.

Hopefully he will not run 6 miles in the heat and humidity. May be time to find a new birthday run tradition?

    1. I think he's leaning toward not doing 6.1 miles. It's just really, really hot right now.

    1. Thanks! I love the bright colors at the coffee station, between the mugs and now the little art.

  10. That art is so fun and whoo hoo for a handmade artist! You would think after your birthday experience that Jeff would rethink his 6.1 - or start at 3 am!

  11. I love how your art pops out ...especially against the dark colors of the coffee machines!!! Lookin’ good!!!

Tell Jeff to be safe on his long run (if he attempts). And enjoy your running peeps!!!

  12. Funny, you found your knitting mojo back and I found my cross stitching mojo back. Hadn't done it in at least 6 months but since last weekend I started again and now I wonder why it took me so long before I picked it up because I love it. Even bought an new project (as if I don't have enough stitching projects already LOL)
