File This...

File this under TOO TRUE:
Allie posted this to Jeff's Facebook page a day after this exact scenario played out - tax time is stressful!

File this under DANGIT:
My little Haviland dish, that I've had since I was 18 or 19 years old, broke the other day!  This is why I can't have nice things - well, for longer than 35 years or so, I guess.  I'm going to try to glue the pieces back on, once I figure out what glue works best with porcelain.

File this under HAHAHAHA:
Jeff was using Google Maps on his phone a couple of weeks ago, looking at the distance from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, when he said "Why is Trump's head on my map?"  Allie and I thought he was joking, but nope, there it was.  I figured it had to be some sort of trolling thing, but some Googling led us to discover that it was from a site Jeff visited that was documenting hate crimes against immigrants by Trump supporters.  Which is sad to see, but good that it's being documented.  However, last week his map looked like this:
And for someone who doesn't like Trump to begin with, it's pretty annoying to see his face when you're just trying to drive somewhere.  That doesn't stop me from laughing at Jeff's exasperation, though.  Just to be clear, I'm laughing at the faces, not at the amount of hate crimes.  That is pretty horrendous.

File this under NEVER LET YOUR PHONE FALL INTO YOUR KADULT'S HANDS:
I was playing around with Siri when they had a promo tied in with the Lego Batman movie, and this came up.  Thanks, Sam.

File this under AWWWWW:
Baby Mason wore the sweater and hat that I knitted for him recently!  He's pretty adorable, and quite the dapper little dude in his church outfit!

  1. Haha--that prank your kids played on you reminded me of the time I changed my work partner's ring tone to a farting noise! Still makes me laugh!

    1. No phone is safe around my kadults...and now that I think about it, or our running friends. We've been known to change profile pictures and send funny texts when passing a phone around the table while we were just looking at pictures.

  2. Ohhhh I'm so sorry about your dish. The sentimental value of things like that cannot be replaced so it's upsetting!

I cannot take the Trump face thing, especially since it means what it does. His polls have now reached an all time low for any president - merely 37%. I wish he'd just go away.

Mason is too cute - what a lucky baby to have Shelley Originals.

    1. I felt so deflated when the dish broke - I've pretty much used it somewhere (on my desk, on my bathroom counter, and most recently, on my closet shelf) since I've had it. :(

  3. I have the same china as your little dish! It was passed down to me from my Mother. :)

  4. Mason looks so cute in his sweater! Great work!

You went a LONG time without breaking that dish. I wonder if the kind of glue you get in hobby shops would work well. Or maybe someone at Hobby Lobby would know! I was thinking something like this (https://www.hobbytown.com/maxicure-extra-thick-ca-1-2oz-by-bob-smith-industries-bsi111/p37059?gclid=CKaZjMec5dICFRK4wAodHOUB3w) but it doesn't list porcelain (LOL, I should explain, I used to build models for school and work so I've spent a lot of time using glue, so this piqued my interest).

    1. I'll check out that glue - it's funny to think that I have a glue expert reading here, but there you go - we all have our things, right?

BTW, that sweater would look equally cute on baby William. ;)

  5. Some funny, some sad. The dish and the Trump faces--just sad! But your kids hi-jacking your phone is FUNNY! And Mason's outfit that you knit for him is too cute!

    1. Yeah, it was a random assortment of pictures that I couldn't pass up posting...don't you just love how Mason's ensemble came out? You were such a good help in choosing all of that yarn. :)

  6. Love that sweater - so cute!

I hope you were able to fix that plate. How come useless stuff never breaks?

  7. Hahahah he trump heads are funny on the phone (and like you...not the reason for the trump heads...just the presence of the heads!!! That would annoy me too!!)

  8. So many funny things in this post! We're traveling cross country soon, I don't know if we can avoid Trump-head locations. Wonder if my Make America Kittens again extension with work with maps the way it does with news sites? It really does help to see his cruel ignorant face replaced with cuddly kittens. And sorry about your dish! --Crabby

  9. Aww that stinks about your plate.
Funny about the map thing. I did google maps several times this weekend in NYC and he never once popped up on my maps. weird.

    Love the baby sweater!

  10. So sorry about the dish! John chipped one of my great grandmother's china dishes washing them after a dinner party and I was soooo bummed.

That trump thing? I'd have to throw out my phone LOL!

  12. That outfit is precious! So sweet!! Imagine how nice the world would be if people put as much time and energy in doing good for people rather than conjuring up hate crimes, hacking people, etc. This world I tell ya...it's cray cray sometimes!

  13. Oh little Mason! AWWW! LOL at "the game of pass the baby". LOL at the Trump faces, though I see Trump as nothing to laugh at. Awful man!

  14. Catching up and smiling now, just what I needed this Monday morning!

  15. I'll just say this... did the offenders who committed the crimes (location noted on the map) say, "Trump made me do it?" What happened to personal responsibility? The assumption that a person would commit a crime --against anyone-- and blame it on someone other than themselves, is absolutely ludicrous! For the previous 8 years of crime during the Obama Administration, I bet Google NEVER ONCE showed Obama's face and blamed HIM for a crime! And yes, I am shouting. I am sick of the intolerance of the losing party in refusing to accept the outcome of this past election. Do you by any stretch of your imagination see the absurdity of the action on Google's part?

    1. Refusing to accept the outcome of the election? How did you get that from a website documenting hate crimes?
