“…I will also say that reading the other comments here makes me happy to be part of such a supportive group; it is a tribute to your character that you attract these kinds of friends and followers.”I have more to say but to be honest, I'm a little overwhelmed and am having a hard time conveying just how much what everyone said, and shared, has touched me. So for now, again, THANK YOU.

I need to be knitting on a couple of projects - and yes, they are for Christmas so there's kind of a deadline happening here - but what am I doing instead? Well, aside from writing this post, I'm checking out Ravelry for patterns. I think I have a problem. Wait...I KNOW I have a problem - can't stop/won't stop knitting. I'd go to a support group for this but I'm no quitter, haha.
Because I've been knitting on some Christmas projects, I can't show you what I've made just yet. But I can show you this picture, because it pretty much sums up my life right now:
Top: I have a cold, hence the cough drops.
Middle: Yarn, yarn and more yarn.
Bottom: My BFF Buffer, which I've moved here so I can use it on my hands and wrists at will, to alleviate the pain from overknitting. Also, tons of dog chews, because Paco likes to have lots of options when it comes to getting his gnaw on.

I think I've mentioned it here previously, but our two cats don't get along - well, Kip, the tabby, doesn't like Henry, the black and white cat, despite the fact that we adopted them, as kittens, from the same cage at the animal shelter over 10 years ago. Kip will hiss and growl whenever Henners comes near him...which is why this scene was picture worthy:
Jeff was making reservations on the phone, and both cats wanted his attention so badly that a peaceful detente was had - for a few brief moments, anyway. They are pretty cute when they're not being jerks.

Have a great weekend!

This Sunday is the BCS marathon/half marathon! I'm not running it, and am especially glad to not be, considering I've been feeling so crummy all week with a cold. All of my running buddies are doing the race, and I'm really excited to get to be at the finish line and watch them all come in - especially Loretta, who will be running her first half marathon. Only kink in the day is a rainy, windy forecast...but this is Texas, and it's not too late for the weather to change - and for all the runner's sake, I hope it does. Any case, it's a big day and I'm excited for my friends!
Have a great weekend!
I can't wait to see your christmas projects!
ReplyDeleteI continue to be amazed at how supportive the online community of friends are. You definitely attract a good crowd Shelley! Have a great weekend!
You are the third one where I read she has a cold. There's definitely something in the air apparently. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI have read all the comments too and they were all so sweet and supportive, I can imagine you were so touched by all of them.
The pic of Kip and Henry is adorable.
Feel better and I, too, am glad you're not running that half. Hilarious how those cats are on each side of Jeff!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us have either lived in fear about something before, or been in a place where we can't share (or feel like we can't share) a key part of our lives, and it is easy to feel like people will judge you or be generally horrible once they find out. But you've built a great base of readers and friends here over the years, so of course everyone is supportive about Allie! :) When I saw the picture at Thanksgiving, I wondered when/if you'd be able to talk about her, so I was glad to see a post!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!
The pic of Jeff and the cats made me smile!!
ReplyDeleteI've been battling a head cold all week but I am trying to not let it bring me down - I think I will get a flu shot this weekend too.
ReplyDeleteI knew the comments would be 99% supportive - it's 2015 for shits sake, but you know there are going to be that 1% that don't get it, and it's not your problem - just concentrate on the 99% :D
You'll be the best cheerleader tomorrow! :D
Love the knitting excess, you reminded me I want/need a BFF Buffer, and the pic of Jeff with the cats is hilarious and adorable. And of course you need to be on Ravelry, otherwise how will you know what to do the minute the Christmas presents are finished?!
ReplyDeleteHow can we all get colds from the internet?
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised at the support you get. Like attracts like as far as blog readers go, I think. Probably any dissenters really wouldn't comment in a supportive atmosphere anyway unless they are a real asshat.
Hope you feel better.
LOL, you, me and Biz must be passing around this cold with our comments!
DeleteHope that cold gets gone SOON!
ReplyDeleteHEY! You have that IKEA 3-tier rolling cart thing!! I've had my eye on that since I received their latest catalog. Would love it for my office space ---- though, I don't really have any room. :P :P :P
ReplyDeleteI love the Ikea rolling cart, although I didn't put the wheels on it because I knew I wanted it as a stationary item. IT HOLDS SO MUCH!! Get one... :)
DeleteOoooo, I want TWO. But then I would not have room to store the bins where all the stuff is now. ha!! :D
DeleteOMG - I can't comment now because after being with all you sick people I need to go wash my hands.
ReplyDeleteYou made me literally LOL, Jeannie!
DeleteBut you are running this weekend? At least a few miles?
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Jeff with the kitties!! Feel better soon! :)
