SoBe lifewater Review!

Last week I received samples of SoBe lifewater's new zero calorie naturally sweetened, vitamin enhanced water beverages (whew!) to try - what a fun perk of blogging! Please keep in mind that the opinions expressed are mine, and that your mileage may vary.

I have to say that I don't like to drink my calories, so when I heard about these, I was intrigued. However, my beverage of choice is unsweetened iced tea, so I may not be the best person to rate a sweet drink.

First impression upon opening the cool tube that they came in - what fun colors! The label on each bottle starts out white at the top and goes down in a gradient color depending on the color of the drink - very pretty, plus with the SoBe lizard on the front, they are like little works of art!

The first flavor I tried was the Fuji Apple Pear, which was by far my favorite. It was a lightly sweet drink, and I liked the apple/pear flavor combination. There was no aftertaste - I would definitely buy this. It would be fun to have in a social situation where emphasis is on the drink - something different from say, club soda with lime, which is what I normally choose when I'm at a party.

I tried the Blue and Black Berry next. It tasted too much like grape juice to me. And I'm not a big fan of grape juice. But if you are, then you would probably like this flavor.

The last bottle was Yumberry Pomegranate, and I did not like this one at all - in fact I didn't finish it. It does not taste like pomegranates; there was no "yum" involved with this flavor. The only word I could come up with to describe it is "bitter" - they really need to go back to the drawing board with this one.

These beverages contain 100% Vitamin C, 20% Vitamin E, and 10% Niacin, Vitamins B6 and B12 and Pantothenic Acid (aka Vitamin B5). The are sweetened with Erythritol, which is in the Stevia/Truvia family.

If you would like to try SoBe lifewater, there is a buy one, get one free coupon available here. Due to a mix up, I didn't get any extras for a giveaway, but Lori over at Finding Radiance has one here.

  1. I've never been a big fan of the flavored waters even if they do have vitamins and other "healthy" things about them.

Thanks for the review... based on what you had to say about it I can pretty much stay away from these too.

  2. I didn't know that they had all those flavors.

I like buying things once in a while like that, just not all the time, unless I had a coupon.

    Thanks for the review!

  3. Are there any carbs in those drinks? Just wondering if they are "insulin" worthy!

  5. Well, they're pretty bottles, anyway.

I can't stand flavored water. Especially when the flavor contains a lot of sugar. Thanks for the review!

  7. Biz - I'm not sure, but I'll have an answer for you later today.

Patty - No Eat Not Food? I MUST see this book!

Mrs. JB - to be clear, these do not contain sugar but rather an artificial sweetener, hence the zero calories. But I totally get where you're coming from with regard to the sugary flavored waters...back in the day, we called it Kool-Aid.

Miz - their subliminal suggestion did not work on me for that flavor, haha!

I haven't read it but it looks like the cutest thing in the world to me! I think I am getting a copy for my grandson this year since he is old enough now.

  9. Thanks for the review! Like you, I don't like to drink my calories, but I might try the Apple-Pear or Blue-Black Berry . . . I'll know to stay clear of the Yum-Berry!

  10. I love the Blue and Black Berry. I need to get used to drinking unsweetened tea. I have been limiting my diet soda though so that's a good thing!

  12. umm. I love the 'healthy' water drinks. LOVE them. I am a big dork and believe in things like "super citrimax" (in FUZE). I need some company to send me something to review. I think candy. Or maybe an American Express black. Either of those would be good.
