A Category Four...

So I finally heard from the wayward travelers this morning - they were en route to the airport in Minneapolis and should arrive here tonight around 8 - 8:30 pm. Finally! I am tired of living alone. Although I have spent this much time away from my husband, he's always available by phone, so this has been harder than I thought it would be. With no one to talk to, things have been building up and Hurricane Shelley struck, leaving a path of destruction. Landfall was made several times - not pretty. I was finally able to get myself together yesterday afternoon and interact with people in my normal, nice manner.

I weighed in yesterday, really expecting no loss due to the winds and busy evening schedule interfering with my bike riding. I was very surprised to have lost two pounds! I went to the store afterward and tried on a cute new outfit in a size I haven't seen for a long time...and it fit! Shock!!! I didn't buy it, because it was full price, but still, it was nice to see myself in smaller clothes!

Over the weekend, I bought a couple of small grilling baskets and a grilling "tray" for doing veggies on the bbq. I have been having mushrooms, zucchini, summer squash and onions along with my LC meal for the past 3 nights - so good! I've been marinating everything in Italian Dressing (considering I practically char the veggies I figure most, if not all, of the fat burns off). This is a nice change from a salad or steamed veggies, and it's been really easy for me to do. I'll have to go back to the store (World Market) and buy the larger basket so that Jeff and Max can share in the veggie goodness!

The winds have finally died down and I have been able to ride Ipoholo normally again...hopefully with Jeff home he can help me get the sensor to "read" on the odometer so I can have an idea of how many miles I'm riding - that way I can set actual goals!

  1. I see your mother is trying to encourage you, anonymously (; ).
So...are your guys stopping anywhere for a shower before they get back? Or do they plan to gas everybody on the plane? I am kind of bummed I missed them when they drove RIGHT BY MY HOUSE!
Oh, yeah - I have a theory that you should purchase at least one clothing item in your new size - just so you know how it feels and looks. So, even if you have to go to a thrift shop - do it!

    Love ya!
