You Get a Version of This Post Every Summer

There's hot, and then there's August-in-Texas hot:
It would probably get burned.
Please note temperature and time.
Makeshift shade.
Ungrateful dog.
Crappy parking job.

Yep, it's been a week of 100+ degree days.  Luckily I've only needed to go out for my PT and workouts, which are all in the afternoon, but I've been able to leave my sunroof open and my car isn't nearly as hot as it could be when I return to it.  That said, black seats should not be an option for vehicles in Texas.  Or, you shouldn't buy a car in December when you've forgotten about how hot it gets here.  Duchess, I love you - but I'd love you more if you had tan seats.

Have a great weekend - and stay cool!

  1. Whew! That's hot! We're enjoying a typical Midwestern summer--nothing too extreme save for that heat wave in July. For that, I am very grateful! Stay cool!

    1. It always gets this hot in August. Sometimes hotter! I can get a sunburn walking from my car to a store if I don't park close enough, LOL.

  3. I have cream leather seats and I think they get just as hot! Baking a lasagna in the mailbox would be hilarious. I bet you could fry an egg on your sidewalk! Stay cool friend.

  4. We have both bought cars in the last year-ish and black seats is all they are doing here too! Steven traveled to the other side of the state to get his car with tan seats. Nutso!

I hope the 100s snap soon!

    1. I like the look of tan seats - next go round I think I'll work harder at getting them. I was kind of blinded by the MINI and I wanted it ASAP.

  5. As your neighbor to the north (Oklahoma), I can concur that the weather lately has been in the realm of hot-hot-lava-hot. Today we've got a nice thunderstorm happening and it's considerably cooler right now...until this afternoon when it warms up and the whole state becomes a sauna. Yay summer! :/

  6. Let me add that leather seats should be a no-no also! Burning hot in the summer ice cold in the winter… Why in the world?
