FMM - I Don't Get Out Much

Seriously, I rarely leave the house because even walking to the mailbox makes my leg hurt so bad that it takes hours to recover and go from extreme pain to just normal pain.  So, you get some animal pictures today.  That's always nice, right?

First up, Henry.  A pair of mockingbirds built a next in the tree right by our patio:
I bought a hanging plant to make their neighborhood pretty.
The birds started swooping at Henry - he wasn't sure what was happening at first.
He found out real fast that the birds did not like him near their nest.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, LET ME IN!

After a couple of days, the birds stopped swooping at him so often.  He's still not sure why they don't like him - Kip was the bird hunter, not Henry - but at least he's able to go in the backyard now.

The next set of pictures are from the Cat Fight Club:
Every morning Jeff sits on that chair to put on his shoes and Henry goes over for pets.  He shoves his head into Jeff's hand, demanding to be petted and of course Jeff acquiesces.
Then Jeff stands up and Cat Fight Club begins.  I know this picture is blurry but it's so funny - Henry just whaps at Jeff's hand!
He's got pretty good balance to stand and fight like this!  After a couple of minutes, the fighting stops and Henry is happy.  He only wants to do this in the morning - I guess it's part of his daily routine.

Next up is Paco the Wonder Dog:
Mom.  Plz stop blobbin and come lay wif me.
MOM.  COME LAY WIF ME.

I swear, he will pace and stare at me when I'm sitting at my desk.  It's annoying - but it's also cute when I get up...he leads me to the couch, where we can lay down together.  This dog!  He has a nice bed in my office but no...couch or my bed is better.

Speaking of my bed, I make it every morning and then this happens:
Dis your spot but now it's my spot.
And I usually give in and cover him up.  How can I resist that face?!

********************

I had another epidural steroid injection yesterday.  This time the doctor put it closer to the L3 area, hoping to get more of a direct hit toward the nerve root.  I am really hoping this one will work - it would be so nice to not hurt all the time.

Hope you enjoyed the pet pictures - thanks for hanging in with me.  I know the blog content has not been interesting lately but I'm trying.  I have some good stuff to write about when my head is clear and my leg will allow for some decent sitting time.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Cocoa does that exact same thing when I try to make the bed...she gets in it. It's become a routine for her. Cracks me up every time!

I am so sorry that you are still in so much pain. I hope this new injection helps!

    1. Yes, Henry's wide eyes made me laugh so much!

The sheets are flannel from Bed Bath and Beyond. Yes I still have the flannel sheets on in June, now. I crank the air up to compensate. :)

    1. It IS a big nest, isn't it?? Today I saw a baby climb to the edge...not sure if he was supposed to be doing that, like he's gonna learn to fly, or if the birds didn't make the nest deep enough, LOL.

  10. LOL at Henry - so funny! Pixie does this with John as well. He goes by the corner of the couch and she jumps up meowing expecting attention and play time.

I imagine you are going to be like me where all future hurts get compared to your herniated disk. My shoulder pain is bad, but not near as bad as when I herniated my disk. Jam my finger and it hurts bad, but nowhere near as much as my back. It's a pinnacle injury.

    1. So Pixie belongs to the Cat Fight Club too? Funny!

Interesting about your pain comparisons to the herniated disc - it will probably be the same over here as well. What a club to be in. I'd rather join the Cat Fight Club.

  12. LOL "blobbin"! Ha! Paco!

Poor Henry! I am glad the birds let him be after a bit. Maybe they were done protecting the nest?!

Cat Fight Club! I am surprised you're allowed to talk about it?

    1. The birds are STILL after Henry! But I saw a baby perched at the edge of the nest, so I think it's nearly ready to learn to fly. Just hope Henry doesn't hurt it if it lands on the ground, eek!

Sigh...I forgot that I couldn't speak about the Cat Fight Club! I've been kicked out. ;)
