WWU - Reunion!

Jimmymeow getting an enthusiastic three dog greeting when we went inside the clubhouse.

We finally had our entire group together on Saturday - it's been for-freaking-ever since that has happened.  This entire training season has been odd, with a lot of people traveling and missing the Saturday runs, plus the marathoners were getting their long runs in on different days, which means we don't get to hang out like we used to, so it was really nice to get to see everyone at Blue Baker after the run - it truly felt like a reunion.

Our Renegade toddlers are busy little boys - Mason stayed home with his grandparents while his mamas ran 10 miles, but Logan came to Blue Baker and after eating some pumpkin bread, he was ready for some mischief:
I don't know who the purse belonged to (it was from someone in our group) but he took it and was off with his prize.
Luckily it was pretty easy to convince him to bring it back.
He got to watch the bakers make some bread with the help of his dad.
And continued the tradition that he and Jeff have of going to the drink station and getting a lid to carry around.

Our weather continues with the traditional January pattern of being so cold that I'm layered up like Randy from A Christmas Story, to so warm and humid that I'm wearing short sleeves and sweating like a fiend.  Yesterday's run was in short sleeves but I'll be layered up once again for tomorrow's run...and this is why I never put away my summer running gear.  I'd prefer to get some more cool-to-cold runs in before we are stuck with full-on heat and humidity because I actually run pretty well when it's cool.  Hot?  Not so much.

Workout update:  Still fun.  Very hard, but it's weird how much I enjoy this.  My only complaint is that I don't have enough sports bras to get me through a week of running and workouts without having to do laundry.  So yeah...if that's my only complaint, you know I'm having fun.  I wish I could write about what we work on here, but it's kind of like Men in Black - my memory gets erased when I walk out the door.  Hey, maybe that's why I like going so much...I forget how hard it is as soon as I leave!

  1. I remember the days of having to wash my workout clothes constantly because I didn’t have enough to make it through the week!!! :-)

I love the picture of Logan and Jeff! Logan’s grin and expression while he looks at Jeff is awesome!!!

  2. You're getting in lots of exercise! And moms of toddlers get in lots of extra steps every day too!

    Logan is getting so big!

  3. This is the first year in forever that I wash my clothes because I don't want them stinking up the laundry room and not because I'm running out. Also, I hate sports bras. It has truly been years since I've had a style I truly liked. I bought some from Target and I waited too long to really wear them and now can't return them so I'm donating them. Somewhere, a Salvation Army shopper is going to be happy!

    1. Ack to buying/donating the sports bras - I've had a couple instances over the last 10 years where I wore one a few times, sweated through it, decided it didn't work...and there goes $$$ down the drain.

  4. LOL at the comment about your memory being erased because it's so true! I'm glad you're still finding it to be fun :)

I stocked up on sports bras during an "end of season" sale last week (what season is ending now? No idea, but yay cheap bras!) because I have the same problem.

Ugh, we had all of that weather in one day yesterday. I left the gym in a tank top and no coat at 7am because it was 60 degrees yet I still had to wear my puffer coat on the last dog walk last night because it was cold and windy. Just pick a season already, weather.

  5. That's just not right that you have to sweat in January! I can't believe how grown up Logan looks, running and with teeth and all!! That picture of Jeff and Logan is so cute, and isn't it fun that a lid is a treat for a little kid!

  6. LOL @ MIB workout! I like that!

Ha, before I read all of your statement about Logan, I was imagining him running off with some random person's purse! Ha!

  7. Sport bras - ugh! Can't find any that fit me quite right and always having to wash them. I'm a profuse sweater, so I have 3 different bras I rotate and will honestly bring them into the shower sometimes and wash them out rather than doing laundry :D Logan is getting so big!

  9. Confession. In the winter I can wear my bras more than once.

Nice that you are all able to get together.

Now that our group is getting bigger, it is hard for us too.

  10. I think you're having fun because the workout is different every time! That's what I like about bootcamp.

  11. Good that you mentioned the purse belonged to someone in your group...haha
Our weather has been all over the place (I was wearing shorts and a tank to run on Christmas eve, eve). But I think we are full into Winter weather now ( which still isn't that bad).
