FMM - Cuteness Overload

Last Saturday afternoon, I happened to look out my window and saw two dogs trotting across our backyard.  One was a puppy and was following the older dog.  Naturally Jeff and I had to go out and investigate - the older dog zipped back through the broken fence board on the side (btw guess how we found out we have a broken fence board?) but the puppy was confused and I went over to try and get him because we knew these dogs didn't belong to our next-door neighbors.  At first he was a little suspicious of me:
Giving me the side eye...
But the lure of getting petted was too strong, so he came over to me.
Such a good boy!  I said sit and he did - wasn't expecting that from such a young puppy.

I took his picture in case I needed to post it on our Nextdoor site, and then Jeff and I drove around to the street behind ours - we figured the dogs had gotten through their fence into our next door neighbors, and then into ours.  Sure enough, as we were driving over, we saw a woman driving around very slowly, looking for something - she saw us and we met at her driveway, where she was happily reunited with Bear.  We were glad that she was home because Paco was incensed that another dog was in his yard and we didn't know what we would do with the puppy if we had to keep him for a few hours.  And oh, that puppy was CUTE.  Puppies.  Why they gotta be so appealing?

I was looking for some pictures from when Sam was very little, and in the process, came across this one:
Sam and Britney, wearing matching Carter's footed jammies.  They were so sweet!

I met Britney's mom at a Weight Watchers meeting when we were both brand new first-time mothers.  Our babies were in the same infant carseat carrier and we became good friends, as did Sam and Britney.  We've both moved several times and haven't lived near each other in over 25 years, but we still catch up on our lives and kids and have such fond memories of our sweet little babies.

The reason I was going through old pictures was to find this:
Sam's first birthday party - Britney and her family gave him a Cozy Coupe, and it was a hit with all of the one-year-olds.

Thirty years later, that Cozy Coupe is still a hit with the one-year-olds:
This was a birthday gift from Logan's Gammy and he loves it!
Beep Beep!

This toy has certainly stood the test of time - and it's been improved, with a removable floorboard, so when the kids are too little to drive it with their feet like Fred Flintstone, they won't slip out through the hole as Sam's generation did.

OK, one last cute picture:
I bery sleepy.  Yur bed will do.

Have a great weekend!

    1. You would have been a goner with this little guy - adorable and well-behaved. Well, except for escaping his yard, but he was just following his big brother. ;)

  4. Aww! What a fun surprise - the puppy, not the board! I am glad you could reunite him with his owner! Now I wonder what happened to the board!

Aww, and I am glad to see Paco too :D

I love the old pics of Sam, and the story about being friends with Britney's mom for so long! Prop to you for doing that for years before social media made it easier to stay in touch with friends all over the country.

    1. The fence is old and that side has never been replaced, so we're looking at 25+years. Every time we think about replacing it, we end up just patching instead. Hard to spend money on something that you don't see.

Funny you should mention keeping in touch before social media - back in the day, we actually called each other! Now we just text and email, LOL.

  5. My dogs love their (I mean my) memory foam mattress. They didn't change the design of that car very much, did they? Cute kids and cute puppies in this post!
