FMM - Thunk Thunkity Thunk Thunk

That's the sound I hear on a daily basis, thanks to every single house in my neighborhood getting a new roof from that hailstorm we had in March.  And because we all got/are getting our roofs on different days/weeks, the thunking noise is always there - it's from the nail gun that most of the roofers use.  Being home during the day, I hear it a lot but it hasn't really bothered me - our house is pretty well insulated and we have double-pane windows, so it's not too bad.  And luckily, Paco's hearing is less acute than it used to be, so he doesn't seem to notice, which is good because if he spent all day barking at the roofing noise this would be an entirely different post!
Dere be noise?  Don't tink so, Mom.

Jeff needed to buy some craft supplies last week and was working off of a list that someone else made.  He asked me to go with him to the craft store  because when in his life has he ever bought things like glitter paint and Mod Podge?  In reading through the list, he asked me what Mod Podge was.  I explained it, we got to the aisle where it was, and that's when I had to laugh because he ever so slightly panicked at just how many varieties of Mod Podge were there.  They've come up with a lot since the last time I used it, I have to admit.  I had him just get the original version, but then we went onto the paint (glitter, t-shirt, and regular) and we started all over again with the too many options, LOL.

That picture of Paco up above isn't a true representation of him at the moment.  Thanks to a foot that he won't stop chewing and is now infected, he looks like this most of the time:
Rilly not lik dis.  Not at allllllll.

I take the cone off occasionally to give him a break (and to let him eat - it blocks his dish otherwise), but as soon as I turn my back, he's back to chewing.  Now he's on an antibiotic, so hopefully between that and the cone, it will heal and he'll forget about it.

Logan's Aunt Cristy was in town this week so she and I took Logan on a long walk yesterday morning.  Even though I wasn't running, I still had sweat running down my face, yuck.  We got 3.5 miles in, and then went to breakfast, where Logan had some pumpkin muffin, of course:
He's getting pretty good at feeding himself!
I was so happy to get some playtime with my little buddy.  And to chat with Cristy, of course.  It was different from my usual routine but I really enjoyed it.  I wish more people were off work during the week (Cristy is a teacher, so she's off for a couple of months now).

I'm planning on running 3 easy miles tomorrow - it'll be just as hot as it was last weekend, so 3 is good for me.  Not much else planned as Jeff's back is still hurting him.  Have a great weekend!

    1. Let's just say he's aiding and abetting others who are crafting, LOL. I can say more about this in a month. Thanks for the compliment - all three of us will take it! :)

  3. Poor Paco! Okay so now we need to know what Jeff is crafting? Did he have to buy these supplies for something he is doing at work?

    1. I can't say much more about the crafting for another few weeks, but it was pretty funny to watch him shop for supplies.

  4. Paco has the stare down cold like How could you do this to me Mom? Poor guy I hope this heals fast so he can't be realized from the cone. The stare probably makes you feel bad but we parents gotta do what we gotta do to take of them.
    Have a great weekend.

    1. Exactly - IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD PACO! But he does try to lay on the guilt, that's for sure.

    1. He's sitting beside me, moaning every once in a while. He is not happy in the cone. :(

  6. Cocoa was chewing her paws until they were bloody. She was also having continual ear infections, so the vet put her an expensive allergy medication--aclovate. I will say that it has made a huge difference for her. She rarely chews her paws and her ears have been free from infection for a while. She likes it because I put the pill in peanut butter!

    1. I'll have to ask my vet about aclovate - Paco takes apoquel for allergies/itching, but that doesn't stop the chewing. Thanks for the suggestion!

  7. Poor Paco and the cone of shame! Don’t you wish sometimes you could just make them understand why they need to stop doing something and everything will get better?

    1. Yes I do. And as soon as I take the cone off so he can eat, he sneaks off to immediately chew on his foot.

    Hope Paco gets better soon.
