WWU - A Title Change?

I joke, but seriously, should I bother with doing the Wednesday Workout Updates anymore?  I mean really, let's face it...there's a little blurb about running (which isn't anything special at this point) and then we get to the main attraction - RENEGADE BABIES!  Sure, they will grow up and eventually they won't be the main focus, but by then will blogging even exist?

Oh wait - I actually have a fun running story to tell you!  Half of our group was busy late into Friday evening, so we ended up running on Sunday.  We even started half an hour later, which meant the sun was rising, and that meant it was light enough to go exploring on a new road that has recently been paved.  It's not finished, and not open to traffic, but it's going to be a great addition to our running routesPart of it has a lovely wide sidewalk, and it loops off of one of our main roads, adding about 1.25 miles.  Plus, it'll be more peaceful, as it's away from the busy main road.  Unfortunately, we really can't run on this when it's dark, as part of the road isn't paved and it's full of ankle-turning rocks - but on Sunday, we just carefully picked our way through that section since we could see the rocks.

I ended up running 4 miles, on dead-tired legs thanks to spending most of Friday and Saturday moving boxes and furniture around in the house.  And yesterday I ran 2 miles - again, on legs that weren't feeling fresh.  I'm looking forward to getting back to normal once the renovation is done; I know I'm not drinking nearly enough water, nor eating properly, and between that plus all the heavy lifting and unpacking, my body is just not enjoying running very much.

Even though we didn't run on Saturday, we still met up for breakfast at Blue Baker - what can I say, it's a tradition!  It was so interesting - Logan was already there when we arrived, and when we walked up to the table, I could see him assessing us - the gears were turning in his brain like he became smarter in one week, if that makes sense.  I know babies develop in spurts, but this was really evident.  Plus, he has suddenly become super fast at grabbing everything within reach and kept all of us on our toes with narrow misses of coffee and soda cups tipping over!  It was crazy and fun to experience this new stage of growth with him.
HEY LADY LET ME SEE THAT HAT.
I NEED TO DO A LITTLE TASTE TEST...AND WHAT IS THAT LOGO?  WILL I GO TO COLLEGE THERE?
You can see how busy he was - Andi indulged him nicely with her hat, while Diane got lots of sweet baby cuddles.
Standing tall!  He's getting so big!
Reading time with Karen - Logan loves his books and read every page with her!
Another book - he helped turn the pages.  He was very intent on looking at each picture.
STILL HUNGRY AFTER HAT.  DEVOURING THIS BOOK NOW.
Play hard, crash harder.  Nap time with dad.

  2. Hooray for running again.

And yes it’s all about the food. Blue baker would be lost without the Renegades.

Can’t wait for the final house renovation reveal.

  3. I have to runfess that I never knew what WWU meant until today! But I think you should keep it as motivation so you have something to report to us! :p

  4. I'm right there with ya sister! I wonder if there is just something in the air? I have not felt like running AT ALL and that has devolved into quite a bit of walking over running lately. The reason I say something in the air is that I looked back at a couple of running journals this morning and found I seem to have a slump this time of year! I literally could take my journal entries from 2013 and write them in this week of 2018. Maybe it has something to do with winter weariness and spring fever crashing into each other. Plus you have the added house activity. Whatever it is, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. (And I know, for both of us, this too shall pass!)

  10. Maybe the babies would like this 0.5k race!

Or at least you'd have extra time for baby shenanigans.
