He loves tearing into his gift almost as much as he loves eating it!
The kadults gave Jeff a Chewbacca suit, which he wore proudly:
He even walked the dog while wearing it, and as the days got colder, the suit seemed even more necessary.
I wasn't kidding about the Harry Potter loot:
Everyone got something - for the record, the Gringotts chocolate coins are delicious, while the jelly slugs are about as gross as you might imagine, LOL.
I gave the kadults a picture collage of our visit to The Simpson world, along with a photo statuette of my favorite family picture of us:
Some families go formal, some coordinate their clothing - but we happily pose with Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa Simpson!
I got a Logan framing staple gun, which I've wanted for years but never could justify buying for myself. I've already used it and love it:
Why did I go so long without having this? It's freaking awesome!
The other thing that I requested, and received, was a combination hairdryer/brush, which lets you dry and style your hair at the same time. I cannot believe how easy it is to do my hair with it, and I'm thrilled with how it looks:
Well apparently I have a certain side when I do selfies, LOL.
Christmas dinner, with traditional crackers beforehand, which gave us our traditional paper crowns:
Hmmm. I think I see which kid takes after which parent...
Followed by mandatory rest time:
So full, so sleepy!
So bery sweepy!
It was a great day, and just really nice to be low-key and get to spend time with our family; while our humor might not be for everyone, there is always a lot of laughter happening and I'm glad we get each other so well. We also had another full week together after Christmas, which was especially nice - the times when all four of us are together are too few, so we have to make every moment count.
Looks like a wonderful time with family!
ReplyDeleteI remember the first "blow dryer" our family owned--I was about 12--and it was a combo brush/dryer! See, everything comes back around.
Was your brush/dryer yellow and orange, by chance?
DeleteSuch a fun Christmas day and so happy you were able to spend it together.
ReplyDeleteSomething else: You know my goal is to walk 1000K in 2018 and in my group someone posted a link where you can print shoes and color every km or mile that you walked or ran. I thought you might like this too to keep up with your running miles?

That shoe thing is pretty cool - I know you like to do detailed coloring, so I have to ask - how are you going to color your shoe? I am wholly uncreative when it comes to something like this.
DeleteYou always have so much fun with your Kadults! I often wonder if I will ever have that.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you make that Simpsons picture? Is it 3D? It's awesome!
It is 3D - I ordered it from Mpix.com.
DeleteLooks like you all had a great Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe sure did. :)
DeleteThere's something special about the kids becoming adults isn't there? I love your inventive gifts and now I want to try a blowdryer/brush combo because your hair looks fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks - you should try the blow brush, for sure!
DeleteI love that photo statuette and your family's humor! What a fun holiday! I kept seeing that Chewie outfit at Target and REALLY wanted to get it for my BiL, ha!
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is pretty funny, and I think will randomly show up over the years, LOL.
DeleteI love reading all of your family holiday recaps. I think it's awesome that you all have so much fun when you're together and appreciate being together so much :)
ReplyDeleteThanks - we definitely do have a lot of fun together.
DeleteGoogle ate my comment this morning. I just said I loved that three-D of you all and the Simpsons. And your hair looked fabulous. And that Jeff looked...hairy :)
ReplyDeleteYou can just see the love you guys have for each other in each picture!!! I love seeing it!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun holiday. You guys always seem to enjoy each other's company. Love that photo statue gift. How did you make it???
ReplyDeleteI used Mpix.com - I've ordered other photo items from them in the past (like a metal print, which was very cool), and they always do a great job.
DeleteThere is nothing like good family time. Especially at the holidays. I love that statuette of you guys! :D
