Dear Santa,
- A pair of jeans that fit my body perfectly. I don't care what size the label says, I just want one pair that I feel fabulous in.
- A Mini Cooper. The rule is, you can ASK Santa for anything, right?
- A healthy body so I can run. Really, is it asking too much to be able to exercise? I don't think so. Make it happen, Santa.
- More cymbals for my drum set. It's not noisy enough.
- Exercise buddies. I do so well with 'em; not so well on my own.
- Yarn...squishy, pretty yarn. So I can KNIT ALL THE THINGS!
- A Starbucks store within walking distance of my house.
- The desire to workout with weights - please bring that back.
- A Fiestaware dinner plate in Shamrock. To replace the one that mysteriously got broken when someone tried to empty the dishwasher a little too efficiently (p.s., lesson learned, holding plates vertically between each fingers is not a great idea).
- Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward Humankind, and all that nice stuff.
Santa is reading my blog and looking skeptical...hmmm, not a good sign!
AIM: Adventures in Maintenance is Lynn, Lori, Debby, Shelley, and Cammy, former weight-loss bloggers who now write about life in maintenance. We formed AIM to work together to turn up the volume on the issues facing people in weight maintenance. We publish a post on the same topic on the first Monday of each month. Let us know if there is a topic you'd like us to address!
OK, that opening line literally made me LOL! :) Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, you know me...it's true!
DeleteIm with you on the JEANS.
ReplyDeleteand always wonder WHO DO THEY FIT NICELY?!
I want number 1 and 2 too, although I settle for any small car, I'm not picky :)
ReplyDeleteI want to be number 5!
And as for number 4: thank goodness you are not my neighbour LOL We have had 2 boys next door playing electrical guitar and drums for years and I'm totally done with that. We almost got in a fight with their parents about it because of the noise. They practice elsewhere now and the silence is a true gift from Santa LOL
Yes to Number 5, Fran!!
DeleteThe drums are loud - I've gone outside when Jeff is playing and I can hear them, so we are courteous about when we play them. Plus, our houses aren't super-close, which helps. Haven't gotten any complaints yet (fingers crossed). But your houses are very close, so I can only imagine how awful that must have been.
I think Number 1 may be the true desire of women the world over! I'll join you on Number 3 as well - please Santa, just one injury free year?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, there are many of us deserving of Number 3!!!
DeleteGreat letter! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leah - Merry Christmas to you!
DeleteOMGOSH, this was funny!
ReplyDeleteFavorite lines: "a cone of silence around the car" "More cymbals for my drum set. Its not noisy enough." "So I can KNIT ALL THE THINGS!"
And the pic of Santa looking skeptically at your blog--where in the world did you find that?!
Thanks! I just googled "funny Santa" and that one struck me as perfect. :)
DeleteI would love #1! Could they also change to fit me at all times? Like, even after a huge Thanksgiving dinner? I chipped two of our dinner plates by hastily unloading the dishwasher too! They were a wedding gift, so not even a year old!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like your addendum to Number 1 - they could be magical jeans, ala Harry Potter!
DeleteSorry about your dishes, ugh. Not a good feeling to do that!
LOL at the Santa pic - he is definitely giving the side eye :D
ReplyDeleteAnd the jeans, please!
He totally IS!
DeleteLove your letter! I want in on the mini-cooper!
ReplyDeleteI'm your opposite on #5. I do better on my own than with buddies. At least with respect to the weight training.
I'm totally with you on #1 and #3 (and the peace and goodwill thing, too, of course). A Mini, though? Oh wait!! You live in the land of very little ice and snow. I get it now :)
ReplyDeleteI love your list!!! And I could really use #8 too, wanna wrap that up for me? :)
ReplyDeleteAbout the driving thing -- I can really relate to that! It all started when I was driving my daughter's 350Z all the time. A change came over me. :) Thank goodness she traded it in (she drove my car all the time since she was a nanny). Then I move to downtown, where I also work, so I don't do much driving anymore. I've gotten back to being pretty laid back.
