Wednesday Workout Update - Rewards!

But first - thank you all so much for the affirming comments on Monday's post.  I appreciate that so many of you took the time (and a few lurkers came out of the woodwork - woohoo!) to write such heartfelt comments.  And don't worry, I'm not going to stop blogging - you can't get rid of me that easily! :)

One of the comments was left by Fran, who ended hers with "And now you made this major decision I want you to give yourself a present because you totally deserve it."  I cracked up and thought "way ahead of ya, Fran" - because I'd gone on a bit of a crazy shopping spree a few days prior, and my package of goodies was already in transit to my house.  I'm sure it won't surprise many of you to hear that I got some BARGAINS!  I've actually been looking for some swim equipment (online, of course, since we don't have any stores here in town that carry this stuff) and along the way I found an awesome deal on some clothes.  Next week I'll write about the equipment that I got - I haven't had it long enough to give it a good test.  But for today, it's Fashion Friday Wednesday!

(Everything pictured is from Kiefer.com - they had a clearance page, plus I had a code for an additional 25% off AND free shipping (I'd share the code but it was only for 24 hours).  And I had a $21 credit from some equipment that didn't work out.  I made out like a bandit!)

Last week I wrote about needing something to wear to the pool when the weather turns cool.  I found these TYR warm up bottoms for $15 after the discounts!  And the sweatshirt?  It was a "team grab bag" which meant I could specify size, but they'd choose the design.  I figured why not - I was just going to wear it to the pool, right?  Anyway, I'm now an unofficial member of the Ashbury Alligators, for the low price of $4.87!
I still need to get about 4 inches cut off the bottom of the warm ups - I swear, they make these things for giants!

OK, that was the stuff I needed.  But there were bargains to be had!  And besides, I like the idea of having some swimming t-shirts.  Here's the rest of the loot:
Grab bag t-shirt for $2.25 - it's a little big (I should have chosen a medium) but how cute is the lettering?!?
Too fun!
"Team grab bag" long-sleeved t-shirt ended up being a 3/4 sleeve baseball style, which, again, I love.  I'm an unofficial member of the DGSRC Dolphins.  Go team!!!
I love this shirt, but like all burnout shirts, it runs small - this is an XL.  I know!!!  But it's cute.  My splurge at $9.89.
How could I resist this shirt/hat combo?  It's PINK!  And it declares who I am - a "Swim Chick" - yes indeed!  $7.20 for both.

If you've made it this far, thanks for indulging me in my fun fashion show.  While I get my everyday reward from exercising in the form of increased endorphins, strong muscles, and a body that is shaping up quite nicely, it's fun to reward myself with things, too.  Do any of you do this?  Or am I just crazy?

  3. If you've made it this far?

You're saying that to ME? You know me, I indulge on fashion posts. And it seems I know you well too by now since you were way ahead of me.

Let me tell you a secret: I bought a new set of winter clothes for finishing my race on Sunday. They were ordered Thursday and arrived Saturday :)

Love the things you bought Shelley.

  4. As you know I never reward myself for anything but then again, I haven't done anything. Perhaps I need to come hang out with you and practice so I can get the hang of it?

  9. I love photos on blogs and will usually go through all the photos provided so you could have a VERY long post about fashion and I would make it all the way to the end. I like the hat shirt combo. I didn't know they had so many things for swimming! I like the sweats and will probably pay more for the throwaways I need for my race in a few weeks.

  10. How fun to find so much stuff so cheap! Sometimes its really fun to volume shop LOL! Oh I reward myself just fine. Lately I've been rewarding myself with art supplies--I now have 50 colored pencils (and want more) and 30 fabric paints. Ooh, can hardly wait to try!
