Wednesday Workout Update And More!

I made it through my seventh week of workouts - I tell you what, Linda had us doing some crazy things Monday and Tuesday...like placing two steppers face-to-face, and having me and another woman not only step, but toss a weighted squishy ball back and forth. Wild, eh? I think she does this to distract us from focusing on how long we are on the stepper (or to strengthen our core muscles, but I'm going with the former). One thing I really like about Linda is that she seems to sense when I'm about to give up and that's when she leans in close to me and says "I know you can do this" and of course I manage to power on, because she said I could do it. It works for me, and this is just another reason why this 12-week workout has been so good for me - because I would totally quit way earlier than necessary otherwise.

Today I did a ton of arm exercises in the gym, and boy am I feeling them! I had planned to vacuum my house this afternoon, but blew that chore off because my arms felt like limp noodles. Well that, and you know...the laziness factor!

So we finally took measurements today - I've lost over 5 1/2 inches total (neck, chest, waist, hip), but the most amazing thing is that I've lost three, count 'em, three inches from my waist!!! That blew my mind! Oh, and I'm down nine pounds since I started the workouts (woot!) which puts me at a total of 70 pounds lost! I've said it before and I'll say it again...a healthy diet AND exercise works.

Onward and downward!

  6. FANTASTIC! That is amazing - 3inches off your waist makes such a huge difference in how your clothes fit, etc.

    Your workouts sound great - really, really challenging, but also fun. Reading about your workouts has got me thinking that maybe I should sign up with a few sessions with a personal trainer - my motivation has been flagging a little lately, so I could use that voice in my ear!

  9. WOW! You ROCK! I miss having a trainer for that kind of motivation and you're totally right how they distract you to keep your mind off what you are actually doing! Great job. You are such an inspiration!!
