Is NOT this:
And grabbing the wrong jar from the drawer resulted in this:
One hefty shake and my nose instantly told me something was wrong. Dangit!!! I recently cleared off my kitchen counter and put the pepper in my spice drawer, but even as I did so, I remember thinking "hey, that looks really similar to the cinnamon jar" - but of course I didn't move it. Ended up ruining some Greek yogurt about a week later. I was peeved - at myself, of course. Pepper has now been put back on the counter, where it mocks me, Nelson-style:
I deserve that, Nelson...I do.

The Siiiimpsonnnss:
Obviously I watch way too much television in that I associate clouds like these with a TV show, but work with me here...
Our Simpsons minifig Lego family is growing! Seeing them in my family room (near the TV, of course) just makes me smile.

We found a dog last week - we were driving home and this cute little dog was in our street. He had this look on his face like "guys, I should not be out here...I made a BIG mistake" - he was really sweet. Very clean, super soft ears, and no collar. He came to me and I put him in our backyard, while Jeff got him some water. I took some pictures and posted them to our local Facebook lost and found pets page and also our neighborhood website. Played with him for a bit while Paco lost his marbles inside the house, then we locked Paco in his crate and let the dog inside. What a good boy - he checked out the house, found Henry on the bed, DID NOTHING (I've never had a dog who doesn't go after cats, even the ones they live with), and after Henry hissed at him, the dog just turned around and left the room.
I sat at my desk, checking the FB page to see if anyone was looking for him. Next thing I know, he's asleep on my foot. I was not making plans to keep him, I swear - but dang, what a good dog! His owners called after a while - turns out they live on our street, but they're fairly new, we've only been at the waving stage, and we've never seen a dog with them. His name is Shiloh, and it's too bad Paco is so aggressive toward other dogs - this would be a fun playmate for him, especially since he lives so close by.

Have a good weekend, and Happy Father's Day to my dad!
Thanks for the reminder to pay attention to label BEFORE
ReplyDeleteusing the contents of the bottle. I love your cloud picture.
Cute minifigs. For a minute there I thought you had adopted
another dog. Glad you had a way of finding his rightful owner.
You didn't mentions your knitting but here is a update on mine.
I finished hubbys sweater and washed it blocked it and now it
is waiting to be seamed together. I even bought the clippy things
to help make seeming easier hopefully I will find my courage to
just do it maybe this weekend who knows. Ahem , I started my
first adult size cardigan for me this time seems like I am always
knitting for my boys I deserve something too.
Have a great weekend.
I am so impressed with your sweater making! I'd love to see a picture of the finished products - email me if you have any. And heck yes, it's absolutely time to knit a cardigan for yourself! How fun! :)
DeleteAww glad Shiloh found his family! I think it is so comical that you collect Simpson figures! You MUST be a fun family!!!!
ReplyDeleteFun...or crazy. Maybe both? ;)
DeleteYears ago when everything was a spray, I hairsprayed my underarms. Hey, it happens!
ReplyDeleteDo you know Paco's breed? Is it a breed that is territorial? He probably just can't help himself - he NEEDS to protect his people!!
Yikes, that must have been a sticky day!
DeleteI think Paco suffers from being an only child in his mind (those cats don't count), and he also might be a little spoiled as a result...maybe it's a good thing I don't have grandchildren just yet, eh?
LOL. Good thing your nose knows. I have so many Penzeys spices you'd think I was a master chef. (Oh so NOT). But we have one of their retail stores not too far away and it has become a "thing", complete with a Penzeys song, for my niece and great-nieces to go to Penzeys. Since you didn't like the pepper on yogurt, I could send you some garam masala or Turkish seasoning to try. :D
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to live near a Penzeys store! I do all my shopping online with them.
DeleteNO THANK YOU (ha!) to the other seasoning for yogurt.
Oh, that would make me so mad to ruin a good bowl of yogurt! Hopefully you still had plenty more in the fridge? Hey, did you know that Costco sells giant economy sized containers of Fage 0%? I like the 2% better, so I don't buy it. But it sure is a good buy.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've never watched the Simpsons, but that whole section amused me, especially all the little Lego creatures.
What a sweet dog. Beagles are known to be runners, so maybe you will have a regular visitor. That would be almost better than having a second dog :)
I had one container left. It did irk me to do that! And I've heard Costco sells Fage...wish we had one nearby. I think there's one in the D/FW area. We in Hooterville only get a Sam's Club.
DeleteInteresting fact about Beagles...maybe Shiloh will come for a visit. I wouldn't mind, actually.
Look how close you were to having another doggy! That's just how it happens all the time, isn't it? So glad Shiloh's owners were found.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww... Shiloh is a sweetie. Maybe you and the new neighbors can swap pet-sitting duties when the need arises.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that's a good idea, except for his escaping part...we'll have to see if he's a master escape artist, or if this was just a crime of opportunity (their fence need repair).
DeleteThanks for being a great animal lover! That's how we ended up with 2 dogs and 3 cats...taking in strays that nobody claimed. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you realized you used pepper BEFORE taking a bite ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG, I bet Greek yogurt would have been ruined for me otherwise!
DeleteThe dog is famous; there is a movie about a dog named Shiloh. (Who looks like your lil buddy.)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he is smiling in the pic where you are petting him. :)
Happy Fathers Day to Jeff!
Chrissy
What a cute dog. Glad that he could return home. I thought about another dog but don't think Bella would deal with it that well. Like Paco she's used to being alone and is spoiled rotten :)
ReplyDeleteMy worst nightmare is that she rans away, that's why I have chipped her and she has a plate on her collar with her name and mine and R.'s phone number.
I covet your lego Simpsons! HA! AWWW!!!! What a sweet pup. Glad he found his home, but still...AWWW!!!!
