I went to Walmart and bought a sports bra, and a tight girdle...no more noise!!  The most I can jog at one time is about 6-7 mins straight right now...so you&amp;#39;re doing great!! I&amp;#39;m a slow runner too, I lost count how many times someone passed me by who was faster than me. And my face is all red by the end and I do walk sometimes during my run. I don&amp;#39;t give a sh*t: I&amp;#39;m running for me and no one else! I listen to my music and run at my own pace. I finished almost last at my first 10K which had about 6.000 participants and did I care at that moment: no. I did it, it was my victory!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So go outside and try it and I promise you: no one will look at you and if they do they&amp;#39;re probably jealous because you are a runner and they aren&amp;#39;t!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hear you about the shoes, when I bought mine they were orange with white and I asked if they didn&amp;#39;t have another color. Remember too that you&amp;#39;re 100 lbs lighter so I don&amp;#39;t imagine a whole lot of snickering is going to go on.  Plus, once you do it for the first time, it&amp;#39;ll make it so much easier every time after that. And of course I know that the neighbors could care less -- they have their own concerns to deal with -- but I still prefer it at night. Everyone else on the planet has it easy because they can measure things in k&amp;#39;s which are much shorter than mi&amp;#39;s.&lt;br /&gt;B. You can do anything for 15 minutes, which apparently, for you, means &amp;#39;run more than a whole mile!!!!!&amp;quot;  Awesome.&lt;br /&gt;C. When you catch yourself thinking other people are thinking mean, fat-girl, jiggly-thighs thoughts about you, give yourself a mental spanking for judging those poor people so harshly, and then imagine them encouraging you.  Because they probably are.&lt;br /&gt;Either that, or they are jealous, and mentally beating themselves up because they aren&amp;#39;t as awesome as you because they are still sitting in their homes, driving by, etc. while you are obviously, dedicated to increasing your awesomeness. It made so much sense as a form of exercise (aerobic but much less impact) yet I had the damndest time getting over feeling like an ass.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But a few minutes in, I&amp;#39;d always forget about it and just tune into my music and go about my business. But you know what?  It&amp;#39;s your body and you do what you need to do to make it healthy.  It doesn&amp;#39;t matter what other people think - because they aren&amp;#39;t the ones living in your body.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And truthfully, most people don&amp;#39;t even notice you.  You&amp;#39;ll find that as you try to cross a street when cars are coming LOL.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It&amp;#39;s so much nicer to run outside than on a treadmill. We have a bike path that runs through our neighborhood and every morning while I&amp;#39;m making coffee I see the same two women walking. Since this summer they both have gradually slimmed down. I&amp;#39;m always so tempted to run out some morning and tell them how great they look. I just don&amp;#39;t want to embarrass them. It seems more interesting than just running and they indicated it increases weight loss in addition to being a good cardio workout. Then, what I realized was that most people are not running.  Don&amp;#39;t get me wrong, I sure some are, but if everyone was running, we wouldn&amp;#39;t have an obesity epidemic in this country.  Now, I look at it like, yea, I may be running slow and I may be jiggling, but so what?  I&amp;#39;m freaking running.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, besides, this isn&amp;#39;t about anyone but you and what you want to do and accomplish for yourself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Go for it and just run your butt off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A side note:  I live 2 blocks from a university, so I have a lot of the college kids running through the neighborhood.  So, it wasn&amp;#39;t easy for me to take this step, to be out there with them.
