Just look at your before photos! I know that the closer you get to goal, the slower the weight loss will be, simply because your body is now adjusting to this new way of life. Also, there's that old adage that muscle weighs more than fat. My Weight Watchers leader is always reminding us that as we build muscle, sometimes we will actually see a gain at the scales. But she reminds us that it's how we look and feel that's more important than a number on a scale. I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary with Weight Watchers at the end of the month and I'm so hoping to get to 80 lbs lost by then. I'm 1.8 lbs away and it will seriously be a struggle to get them off by the end of the month. I average about 1/2 lb a week.<br /><br />But, here's the thing that I know you know. It doesn't matter how fast we lose weight. It ebbs and flows; or it sure does for me. I'm just flowing now (not THAT kind! those days ended over 8 years ago. LOL) You will get back on fire. If I were a betting woman, with all the exercising you are doing, I bet you are calorie deficient for the amount of calories you are burning, and your metabolism might be a tad messed up. Change up the amount of calories you are consuming for a few days in a row, and do the same for your exercise level, and I bet you kick start it back again. But sometimes, the body just needs a tad more time to adjust than we want to give it...re all these pounds we have been losing. It needs to readjust its 'set point.'<br /><br />Now print this out, rinse, repeat, and throw it back in my face the next time I bellyache. The number on a scale is just that - a number. <br /><br />How about this - take a couple of minutes and tell yourself what you would tell your daughter/very best friend in the whole world if she were in this spot?<br /><br />I'm in the same spot as Lori - it takes a lot for me to drop and nothing for me to pop on 5 pounds. And my body will hold onto that weight for two weeks, seriously. <br /><br />Anyway, you are doing great. Try to keep your eye on the big picture. The numbers will do what the numbers will do, but you are building the bionic body! I lose weight slowly and a dinner out and I can start almost all over again.<br /><br />Remember we're fortysomethings and losing weight isn't as easy for us as it is for twentysomethings. That's just the way it is.<br /><br />And you're doing great with everything, you have to accept that it's going slow how difficult that might me. <br /><br />And remember: losing weight fast usually gets back easy too.
