GlobeIn Artisan Subscription Box Review!

Here's a nifty idea for a holiday gift for the person on your list who not only likes something out of the ordinary, but who also appreciates supporting artists in developing countries - a GlobeIn Artisan subscription!  I was given the opportunity to choose from several of their boxes and the Savour box appealed to me the most.  Here's what I received recently:
This felt like I was opening a gift - there was a sticker and a booklet detailing what was inside the box, along with where each item came from.
Everything was packaged carefully to avoid breakage - wouldn't that be the worst, to open up a box of pottery shards?  Not a problem with GlobeIn - I consider myself the queen of overwrapping things for shipment, but I do believe they rival me in the bubble wrap department!
The goodies - a spoon rest and matching salt and pepper shakers, made in the Palestinian Territories, a neem wood spice bowl made in India, and Ilocano Asin sea salt, tucked into a handwoven box, from the Philippines.

Everything is so pretty and well-made!  I'm loving the deep colors of the ceramics - the spoon rest looks great on my stove, and I've been needing a pair of salt and pepper shakers to use as I'm cooking, so this set is perfect for me!

The sea salt is meant for the wooden bowl, but I may steal that to hold stitch markers for my knitting and instead, use a clay spice bowl that I already own for the salt (I don't think it would work in the salt shaker as it seems like it might clog up the holes - but I have some finer salt that I'll use for the shaker).

The little woven box is adorable and also might end up in my knitting supplies - what can I say, I like to use out of the ordinary things to hold my little accessories, and this box will be super cute nestled among my yarn!

I'm familiar with GlobeIn as I did a review for their subscription box over a year ago; I will say that in that time, they've really stepped up their offerings and have lots of different selections for subscribers, from kitchen to bath to jewelry.

With the holidays right around the corner (I know they're at the same time every year, but seriously, they came up FAST this year!), a subscription to GlobeIn might be perfect for that special someone on your list.  Click here to subscribe and use the code JOURNEY for a $10.00 discount off of either a three or six month subscription.

Disclaimer:  I was not financially compensated for this box; I received a sample for review purposes - all opinions are my own.

  1. I do remember reading about this on your blog. I think this is a great idea for a holiday gift for the person whom you don't know what to get. I wish you could just buy one box instead of committing to. A subscription.

    1. You can purchase a box as a one-time item, but the cost is a bit higher. There are a lot of themes to choose from, so that might be a nice option for gift giving.

  2. I love the box gifts. The ones that have full size items are great instead of the samples items.
