Fresh 'N Lean Organic Vegan Meals Review!

It's no secret that I am a lazy cook...as in, I just can't be bothered to put together a meal most evenings.  So whenever I'm offered a meal delivery service to review, I usually go for it, even when it's vegan meals.  I'm not vegan by any means, but I don't eat meat with every dinner, so I was open to trying the Fresh 'N Lean meals.

Fresh n' Lean is a 100% plant-based and vegan meal delivery service that prepares and delivers premium quality, all organic, gluten-free and fresh meals nationwide (why yes, I stole that word-for-word from their website), with cuisine styles ranging from Mediterranean, Continental, Asian, and South American.  They are shipped fresh, in coolers, right to your doorstep.  Here's what arrived on my front porch recently:
Styrofoam cooler filled with ice packs and fresh meals!

The meals:
Microwavable trays - easy as pie to prepare.

I don't like oatmeal when I make it, but for some reason, I usually like it when it comes from a meal service.  They sent me Pineapple Sunflower Oatmeal, and it was freaking delicious!  I had this for lunch:
 So, so good!  Loved this.

The meals are fresh - you store them in your refrigerator, and should eat them within a week of receiving them.  The next evening, Jeff and I shared a side dish of TexMex Quinoa for dinner, along with slightly burnt chipolte veggie burger patties:
This was really good, too, although I think I spiced it up a bit with some Bob's Red Hot sauce after I took the picture.

The other meals I received were a chia pudding, which I couldn't bring myself to eat (it's a texture thing), Ginger Bok Choy and Brown Rice (yum), and French Riviera Lentils with Kale, which had a lot of interesting ingredients like walnuts, mushrooms, and kalamata olives, as well as the lentils and kale - it was really good and quite the different taste experience for me.

If you'd like to try Fresh 'N Lean organic vegan meal delivery, use the promo code JOURNEYTOFIT for 15% off your next order (ala carte not included) - you'll also receive free shipping, woohoo!

Disclaimer:  I received the meals pictured in this post for free; opinions on the food are my own.

  2. Oh yuk to me it doesn't look appealing to me at all. Plus it has a lot of "superfoods" in it and I am so over those foods. Chia pudding, good thing you didn't eat that because chia seeds are nothing more than bird seeds sold also in pet stores :) This was on TV recently here.

    1. Oh how funny - they've tricked everyone into eating bird seed. Wonder who's having the last laugh about that one??

  3. Sounds like you enjoyed the product for the most part. I think it's hilarious that you don't like oatmeal unless you get it pre-made. Maybe it's a texture thing? I'm with you on the chia that is for sure. Besides every time I hear about that seed I think of Chia Pets and I'm not eating that!!

  5. Thank you for this review. I have been considering doing the Hello Fresh meal service which is a little different because they supply the ingredients and you still have to prepare the meal.
I would love to try that chai pudding. I have never heard of that before but I bet it would be amazing!

  6. I missed this post. Pineapple sunflower seed oatmeal does sound delicious. I will have to try that combo the next time I make oatmeal.
